Most "free online tools" aren't really free — the cost is your file. You drop a PDF onto someone's server and hope their retention policy is what their marketing page claims.
Toolbelt works differently. Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser tab. Your files don't move. We don't have an account system, an upload queue, or a "pro plan" gating the 15MB ceiling. It's the same code that would run locally if you installed a desktop app — just shipped as a web page so you can use it without installing anything.
What's live today
- PDF: merge, split, rotate, compress — all lossless, no watermark.
- Image: compress, resize, convert (JPG ↔ PNG ↔ WebP) — canvas-based encoding.
- Generate: QR codes (URL, text, WiFi) — PNG + SVG export.
- Developer: JSON formatter — prettify, minify, sort keys.

Why "client-side" matters — and how to verify it
Anyone can write "we care about your privacy" on their homepage. The interesting question is: can you verify it, in under a minute, without trusting a marketing page?
That check is the whole product philosophy. Every guide on this site will walk you through whatever tool it's about — but also explicitly show you how to confirm the tool does what we say.
What's next
Over the next few weeks we'll ship in-depth guides for each live tool, each answering the real question people search for instead of repeating vendor marketing. First two up: compressing PDFs below 10MB without losing quality, and resizing images without quality loss.
If you want to be notified, the RSS feed is at /rss.xml. Nothing to sign up for.
